Ride through one of Mongolia’s most spectacular and diverse landscapes on an epic journey of approximately 1,700 km on the Norden 901 Expedition — from the wide open steppes deep into the heart of the Gobi Desert, all the way down to the legendary Khongor Sand Dunes. Experience towering dunes rising from the desert floor, ancient canyons, vast empty plains, and hidden limestone formations along the way. Home to wild antelopes, Bactrian camels, and world-famous dinosaur fossil sites, the Gobi offers endless variety and freedom. Sunrise rides, remote tracks, the iconic White Stupa, and the dramatic arrival at Khongor make this a once-in-a-lifetime motorcycle adventure.

DAY 1 – Arrival in Ulaanbaatar

Arrive in Mongolia’s vibrant capital and settle into your hotel near Chinggis Khaan Square. Meet your fellow riders, get fitted with your gear, and join a welcome dinner to kick off the adventure at Hutong Restaurant in the Shangri-La Hotel. The journey begins.

DAY 2 – Riding towards white stupa (460km, 90% road, 10% Gravel)

Ride south toward the surreal White Stupa, a dramatic limestone formation shaped by wind and water over millions of years. Vast landscapes and changing colors make this a spectacular first riding day. Mongolia opens up in all directions. On the first day, some on-road distance is covered to reach the Gobi Desert.

DAY 3 – Arriving at Khongor Sand Dunes (347km, 70% Road, 30% Off-Road)

Cross into the heart of the Gobi to reach the legendary Khongor Sand Dunes. Towering dunes meet rugged mountains, creating one of Mongolia’s most iconic landscapes. A true desert riding experience.

DAY 4 – FLAMING CLIFFS (165km of Dirt ROad)

Explore the famous Flaming Cliffs, where dinosaur eggs were first discovered. Red sandstone formations glow at sunset after a full day of dirt riding. History, wilderness, and raw adventure combined.

DAY 5 – ONGII MONASTERY (165km oF DIRT ROAD)

Ride across remote steppe toward the ruins of Ongi Monastery along the Ongi River. This spiritual and historical site lies in complete isolation, surrounded by endless horizons. A day of freedom, solitude, and off-road riding.

DAY 6 – Husky Lodge (250km of DIRT ROAD)

Arrive at the remote HUSKY LODGE in the Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes. Mountains, forest, dunes, and river crossings meet in one unforgettable location. A true Mongolian wilderness retreat.

DAY 7 – HUSKY LODGE LOOP DAY, BUDDHIST TEMPLED VISIT (100km OFF-ROAD)

Enjoy a loop ride through the surrounding mountains, ending at a hidden Buddhist temple. An optional sand dune riding experience is available. Return to camp for a bonfire evening under the stars, with optional horseback or camel rides at sunset.

DAY 8 – Ulaanbaatar (300km mostly dirt road)

An early start takes us back toward Ulaanbaatar on a spectacular ride through wide open grasslands, rolling hills, and mountain passes. The final off-road stretches are a perfect farewell to Mongolia’s vast landscapes and sense of freedom. Back in the capital, there’s time to explore the city, shop for world-famous cashmere, or simply relax. The journey ends with a private farewell dinner at one of Ulaanbaatar’s best hot-pot restaurants.

DAY 9 – DEPARTURE

After breakfast, we transfer you to the airport for your onward journey. Say goodbye to Mongolia, taking home unforgettable memories, new friendships, and the spirit of the Gobi. Until the next adventure.
